There will be situations where your iPad will freeze up or not work properly, and the first troubleshooting method to try is to restart the device. Restarting an iPad does not cause you to lose data saved on the device, but it will cause you to lose any unsaved work you have open at the time.

If your iPad continues to malfunction, you may need to restore it. Consult the manual for this process.

Tap the “App Store” app on your iPad, then tap “Updates.”

Charge your iPad’s battery completely — neglecting to do this will cause your iPad not to turn on. According to Apple’s iPad user guide, charge your iPad for at least 10 minutes with your iPad turned off.

The iPad normally shuts down quickly, with a swipe and tap of the power bar on its screen. It safely closes all currently open applications while saving any unsaved data on the device. If you are unable to shut down the iPad, there may be an issue with your device’s current software, which can result in erratic behavior when attempting to use it. If your iPad is updated to the latest version, a device reset may correct the shutdown issues by forcibly shutting down the tablet and restarting it to the home screen.

Release the held down buttons once the Apple logo appears on the iPad’s screen.

Navigate your iPad or computer browser to books.google.com. Click the “Help” link, then click “Support,” and then click “Known Issues.” Browse the current list to see if your issue is discussed and if a solution is offered. At the time of publication, known issues include hyperlinks, justified text, landscape mode and slowness in older devices.

Iphone repair

Repairing your original iPhone initially requires that you take away the SIM card and pry bump off the plastic cover at the bottom of the iphone. Take away the screws at the bottom of the iphone, then use your pick to pry off the back cover. Take away the three screws in the control board, then pry up the white antenna cables, camera, battery and control board. Note that there are connectors on the bottom of the control board that you have to disconnect in order to entirely take away the board, and that the battery is permanently connected to the board. Remove the ten screws around the perimeter of the device, then lift the display assembly away from the front bezel.

The iPhone was not designed to be taken apart by users, and doing so could irreparably damage the device. Be sure to ground yourself by touching something metal before you open the device, and don’t perform the repair in a high static environment. The rear case is extremely difficult to remove and will often leave you with a bent housing, making the device difficult to put back together. If your 1st generation is, for some reason, still under warranty, opening it in this manner will void that warranty.

Although jailbreaking the iPhone can void the device’s warranty, a faulty handset can still be restored to its factory settings to remove its jailbreak status. Launch the “Settings” application and open the “General” page. Tap “Reset” followed by the “Erase All Content and Settings” button. This will reset the iPhone to its factory default and reinstall official Apple firmware through the iTunes multimedia management software on your computer. This can be a useful troubleshooting procedure if you are encountering operational problems after jailbreaking.

Despite various court battles by Apple to officially outlaw iPhone jailbreaking — a process that unlocks the iPhone from iTunes and allows installation of unofficial software from third-party vendors — it has been unsuccessful. Apple maintains that jailbreaking an iPhone can be detrimental to the device, though supporters of the jailbreak insist differently. Either way, a safeguard is built into the iPhone that allows you to restore its operating system at any time, should problems occur.
