Show Reports

On this page we will have our most up to date Show reports. Currently we are involved in two shows a year which are held by the INFPA. The young bird show is held every August and our second show is held in October is both for adult and young birds.

On Saturday 25th October 2014 the INFPA hosted their annual show in the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel in Limerick. This was a very successful show with just under 500 pigeons entered.

The Irish Coloured Racing Pigeon Club had the largest entry with just under 100 coloured racing pigeons entered. This is something that we are proud of as a club. This is the first year since the foundation of our club that our breed was the largest class in both shows in the one year.

We would like to say a big thank you to Mr. Thomas Hellman who took time out to fly to Ireland from Germany and judge on the day. Thomas done a fantastic job again and he was very nice on the day, taking time out to speak to any of our members who wished to pick his brain.

We would also like to thenk the INFPA for their continued support towards our Club and also for hosting a very successful show of which all breed classes showed a very high standard.

Like at our young bird show in August we had five colour classes on the day, (Almond, Opal, Reduced, Self/Bar/Check and AOC).

The winner of Best in Breed went to Wes Murphy with a 2013 bred Dominant Opal Bar Cock. This pigeon was a desrved winner on the day and helped wes become the third person to win both the young bird show and the Kilmurry show in the same year since the club was founded in 2012. This was previously achieved by Brian Cullen in 2012 and Albert hogan in 2013.

We would also like to say a big well done to Sarah Flaherty who won the Junior Class with a black grizzle hen. sarah had a very successful show.

This years young bird show  took place on 23rd August 2014 in the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel.

It was a very successful show for the Irish Coloured Racing Pigeon Club as we were the largest breed class on the day with 53 entries.

These entries were split into five coloured classes. This was our first year to introduce colour classes for the Coloured Racing Pigeon class and it went very well.

It was also the first outing for our new Junior section and we had five juniors exhibiting a total of 11 pigeons. The juniors had prepared their pigeons excellent and they should all be very proud of themselves. The winner of this class was Caoimhe Murphy with a lovely Classic Almond Hen. Our club secretary Albert Hogan presented Caoimhe with a Plaque and Rosette for taking first place.

Albert made the full presentation to all our winners on the day and he done a fine job and also thanked the judge on the day Mr. Thomas Hellman who had flown in from Germany to judge the Show.
