Free community composting training, Westward Ho!

Free community composting courses for growers of Local Food are taking place at 12 different locations across England. The nearest one for Devon residents is being hosted by Seize the Moment, at The Happy Cafe, Westward Ho!. 

The courses, run by the Community Composting Network are aimed at local not for profit organisations, community groups and social enterprises which are growing local fruit and vegetables.

The aim of the course is to get local food growing group’s community composting as well so they can produce enough compost for all their growing needs. The course will cover the following topics through classroom learning and practical activities over three days:

  •     Compost and soils
  •     Practical composting
  •     Legislation
  •     Compost uses for local food growing
  •     Quality assurance

The three course dates at Westward Ho! are on 14th, 21st and 28th November.

Cost: Free and is accredited by CIWM (Chartered Institution of Wastes Management)
