The main aim of the Frankmarsh Community Garden project is to encourage participation in gardening and horticulture of families and individuals living in Barnstaple, with a focus on social inclusion and cooperation. The plan is to continue the work started by North Devon Homes, clearing, developing and using the community garden in the Frankmarsh & Gorwell area of Barnstaple. Volunteers will be recruited by word of mouth, flyers and Devon Grapevine website. Participation will be open to people of the North Devon area committed to the projects aims and objectives and who volunteer to become members. The focus of the project will be on people living in the area, however membership will be open to anyone in sympathy with and supporting the objectives of the project. We will strive to provide a safe and fun environment for people to share their gardening skills, and to signpost to further training opportunities in horticulture.
