Who we are:

Our aim is to help make the local community one of the most resilient for local food in the UK.

We are establishing Chagford Community Farm CIC (Chagfarm) to produce organic goat dairy and meat, pork, poultry, and honey. We will operate under the community supported agriculture (CSA) farming model where members commit to buy at least a year’s worth of high welfare and quality produce in advance. The Community Interest Company (CIC) will also be a local food hub by distributing produce from other local farms where there is demand.

What excites us and makes our offer unique when compared to other farms is allowing our customers to see the origin of their food, get involved in farming and understand the different animal welfare standards on the market. To get people involved we are offering work shares where people can work in exchange for produce. We are also holding monthly volunteering events for helping us start up the farm.

We will communicate our offer and benefits to all existing local groups as identified within our marketing strategy. We aim to have 100 members by 2018.

We will make it easy for other start up CSAs and subscription farms by providing our assistance and marketing resources along with copies of our template business plan and financial model.
