At a recent public meeting in November 2011, members of the community agreed to formally approach a local landowner and the parish council about starting a community garden on land at Mountain Hill.  The site is in many ways a challenge however those attending were keen to explore options. Ideas included vegetable growing, soft-fruit areas and an orchard, or forest garden and seating. With some specialist advice, a risk assessment and design ideas have been drafted. 

Ian Stone, parish councillor, says 'I'm very encouraged by the response from residents and hope that the land can be secured for community use. A project like this can bring people together, provide somewhere to grow food and help care for the local environment".
