Occombe Farm - Marldon, nr Paignton

Occombe Farm is run by the Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust - a unique local conservation charity dedicated to looking after the wildlife and heritage of Torbay. The overall aim of Occombe Farm is to reconnect people with food, farming and the countryside and to have a profound effect on the local food culture of South Devon. As well as a Farm Shop, Butchers, Bakery, Cafe, Education Centre and Nature Trail, it also has a large community garden.

The Occombe Farm Community Garden is managed by several horticulture students and regular volunteer days. If you would like to help, they hold volunteer days each Thursday, and the 4th Saturday of each month, from 9.30-4.00.

The garden has beautifully designed raised beds, a field garden and 2 polytunnels. The food they produce is used in the cafe and sold in the farm shop.

As well as producing food, you can also cook it in the garden - in their clay oven!

A war-time garden has recently been added, creating an allotment using WW2 era techniques, complete with a backyard bunker and a shed showing short films.
