Potential NEW YOUTH (Under 20) WORLD RECORD at Glenurquhart Highland Gathering and Games.

George Evans (19), Inverness, threw an impressive 74' 10.5" in the 28lb for Distance, at Glenurquhart, on Saturday 26th August 2017. 

The potential new World Youth Record is pending ratification by the S.H.G.A.

George also holds the 42lb Weight Over the Bar Youth World Record, 17' 8", which he set at Glenurquhart, in 2016. George had 3 attempts to beat the record this year, but kept hitting the bar, while the 42lb weight was still rising. He certainly had the height, but not the trajectory.

George has also thrown World Best Youth Performances in the 16lb Shot Putt (53' 2"), the 22lb Shot Putt (39' 6") and the 56lb Weight Over the Bar (13' 6"). 

George next hopes to compete at the Invercharron Highland Games on Saturday 16th September, where it is hoped he will attempt to beat more records.
