I’m currently 46,000 words into a manuscript which has been thirty-six years in the making, and counting. Having carefully selected the publisher most likely to consider it favourably and received a knock-back from them, I ought now to be chasing others but I have more pressing stuff getting in the way - research for a follow-up to my Lessons from History book. It’s about the Georgian new towns of the Highlands and Islands and my plan is to visit all of those I’ve selected for detailed scrutiny. It’s going to be a labour of love, but the visiting bit will wait until the weather allows, meanwhile I’m reading and cogitating - multi-tasking even.
This is a big project

Painstaking progress on the new towns manuscript over the summer. There's been a lot of researching, quite a lot of visiting and far too much re-reading and re-writing. Have now determined to call it "A New Way of Living".
