Congratulations to Paul Tierney on winning the Wicklow Way Ultra Race on March 26th last.  The current Garda National Cross Country Champion was the first to cross the line in this prestigious race on the mountain running calendar.  The 51km race is a brute of an event in the Wicklow Mountains and incorporates over 1940 metres of climbing.  Having travelled from Cork he was one of the pre-race favourites having finished joint third in the Art O'Neill Challenge in January with another Garda AC stalwart, Adrian Tucker.  Indeed Adrian finished 7th overall here and was second in his age category.  Tierney posted 251:57 for the course, winning by over 7 minutes.  Adrian finished in 283:57.  Well done lads.
