"All I can say is....thank you Mr. Fry" Peter Digby
On Saturday last January 15th the Aware 10k was run in the Phoenix Park. On a very blustery day the Garda AC was represented by Willliam Brosnahan and Declan Egan. Over 1100 people took to the starting line in the windy conditions for the race which had been scheduled in December 2010 but was postponed due to the inclement weather conditions. William acquitted himself with distinction finishing 55th in 42:02. William has returned of late to competitive action after a little siesta. Declan Egan was hot on his heels in 59th. Declan has begun the New Year with a renewed vigor and is planning an assault on the hills of Connemara in April. An experienced marathon runner Declan will undoubtedly be working very hard over the next few months before tackling the wilds of the Irish west. We look forward to seeing both of them in Garda colours in the upcoming cross country Bhaa races.
