On New Year's Day the Garda AC was represented by two gents and two ladies at the annual Tom Brennan Memorial 5k, in the Phoenix Park.  The winter snow had melted away and a large enthusiastic crowd turned out for the first race of 2011.  Lorraine Manning continued her fantastic form of 2010 by finishing 3rd in the ladies race with a time of 17:21.  Looks like Lorraine will continue to be a thorn in the side of our international runners throughout 2011.  Leona O'Reilly was our second lady to cross the line in 12th with a very respectable time of 20:44.  Jason Miley was our first male to break the ticker tape in 17:56 for 34th overall, while the ever improving Sean Mac Seoin fresh from his marathon exploits crossed the line in 18:44 for 46th place.  Well done to all.
