"Theres one thing about baldness, its neat". Don Herold
On Monday December 27th, John Griffin took to the blustery shores of his native Tramore for the Baldyman 5 mile Beach Race. One of the most enjoyable events on the calendar in Co. Waterford the Baldyman race has found a special place in the hearts of the locals, who still remember the Aer Corp Tragedy of 1999 which saw 4 men lose their lives in a helicopter crash on this stretch of beach.. With the rain bucketing down and the wind pushing the runners back towards the start, those hardy Decie men and women turned out in force on a terrible day for running. The race fished it's name from the largest dune on the beach which has seen erosion displace all the grass on it's crown. John ran a good race in what were tough conditions to finish 64th in 42:57.
