A hearty congratulations to all AGS members who ran last Sunday's Half Marathon in the Phoenix Park. The new route was a welcome one with lots of PB's posted throughout the large field.  First home in AGS colours and with a new PB at 47 years of age was Paul Moran in 1:14:21, placing 17th in overall classification, and winning his age category.  Second across the line was Lorraine Manning in a new PB also of 1:18:49.  Lorraine placed second in the ladies race and her mammoth performances of late are becoming the stuff of legendary status.  She has been a great ambassador of Garda Athletics over the past few years and appears to be going from strength to strength as she and her Shamrocks team mates devour the opposition at most races.  Ronan Hartnett in 1:20:17, was next placing 75th.   Sean Mac Seoin in 1:23:12, a new PB also, was followed by Denis Ferry in 1:23:58.  Damian Gannon produced 1:28:19 for the course, with Eamon Lynch snapping at his heels in 1:28:41.   Declan Monaghan also broke the 90 minute barrier clocking 1:29:17.  Our other athletes included : Brian Hoey 1:33:27 : Mick Harkin 1:33:54  : Pat Feerick 1:36:26 : Gerry Whelan 1:37:37 : John Griffin 1:39:14 : while Mick Ferry produced 1:39:44 and was desperately unlucky placing 4th in his age category.  Paul Maher 1:40:42 : Marilyn Brosnan 1:41:25 : Martina McGoldrick 1:42:48 : Donal Gleeson 1:43:12 : Kevin Hoey 1:48:39 : Dave Swan 1:50:01 : Paul Griffin 2:01:01 : Dave Harrington 2:02:49 : Sean Troy 2:13:28 :   In total over 60 AGS members completed the race and we wish all of them the very best in the upcoming marathon.
