On Wednesday evening August 24, the final meet of the current Bhaa Summer Track Series was run off.  Tallaght AC Stadium played host to some enjoyable and indeed, competitive action.  AGS was represented on the evening in most of the 2 mile races.  As usual our members performed admirably.  Dermot Haugh was 3rd home in his Standard in a time of 12:29.  Jeremiah Moloney ran a clever race and produced a storming finish over the final 100 metres to finish first male in his Standard in 13:25.  Owen Keane finished 3rd in his race and 1st in his Standard in a time of 13:37, while Hugh Reddy tightened his vice like grip on his league position by finishing first in his Standard, clocking 17:12.  However, undoubtedly the AGS performance of the night rested squarely with Bridget Buckley.  She produced a colossal run claiming silver in 12:58 for the 2 mile distance. Bridget was just five seconds behind the winner a BBH runner, and had 25 seconds to spare over Peig Dunne of DAA back in third.  Hopefully, we can look forward to fielding a Ladies team throughout the upcoming XC season.
