On Saturday June 19th Kevin Grogan completed the Kilbroney Challenge in 4hrs 57mins, placing 6th overall. This was a great performance by the "mountain goat" on a tough course in Co. Down. However this was only the warm up for the main event. A week later Kevin and his team mate Fred Hammond from Belfast tackled the awesome orienteering course over a 24 hour period. Rogaining is a sport of long distance navigation on foot for teams of two or more over a twenty four hour period. The object of the sport is to score points by finding checkpoints located within a specially mapped area within the allowed time period. Kevin and Fred placed 2nd in this gruelling 24 hour challenge. (Will he ever take it easy?)
