19 April 2019GBC Table Top Sale Fri 19th April 2019
Thanks to the Community Hall for organising the Table Top Sale.
The weather today was so good, it kept the visitor numbers to the Gairloch Community Hall lower, but we still managed a steady stream of customers for the huge array of Baking & Plants contributed by Club Members.
The contributions in Baking, Gardening and Time spent running the Table Top Sale was enormous. Special thanks to Peter & Dyllis for suggesting that GBC take a Table at this event and then thanks to Jean with the Pancake making, Cameron and Mary for the Plants, Morven, Fiona, Gillian, Janet & Phil for setting up and selling all the goodies. (I hope I haven't missed anyone out.)
THEN, when the Event closed we all decamped to the Boat Club and set up outside the Club House. Both locals and visitors were encouraged to buy and eat the pancakes and baking.
Very special thanks to Lachlann for helping us so fantastically and then coming down to the Boat Club to continue selling. Thanks to all the folk who bought the fabulous goodies.
Everything was sold and the grand total raised for GBC Funds was £187.20. The money will help us to continue to develop the sailing opportunities for the Members of GBC.

14 April 2019Sunday sailing 14th April 2019
Sunday morning started bright with gusty winds, sometimes to 22 knots.
Iona coped extremely well with the gusty conditions.
Cameron, Morven & Cameron were flying along across the Gairloch Bay.
Photos and three video clips are now on our Facebook page - www.facebook.com/GairlochBoatClub
24 March 2019Work Party
Today, Sunday 24th March, we wanted to prepare the Club's Safety Boats & Dinghies for the Sailing Season ahead.
The weather clearly had other ides; howling winds, sleet, then bright sunshine.
We managed to get the Safety Boats to the Pontoon in readiness for the Season's first sailing session on Sunday 31st March, weather permitting!
All the 17 helpers did fabulous work checking and preparing everything and were sustained by BBQ food including home made baking, thanks to Fiona, Janet and Carol. The Showers were given a good clean too, thanks to Dyllis & Jean..
The photos - in the gallery - give some idea of the weather today with choppy waters.
2019 we plan Topper Race Coaching, Juniors Beginners, RYA Push The Boat Out which will include the Gairloch Skiff Club and EweCanoe Canoes and Kayaks, Annual Challenge Regatta and other courses.
We need to bring in Qualified Instructors as we haven't any ourselves although we do several very experienced sailors.
We also have a band of about 6 Juniors who continue to enjoy and develop their sailing skills.
Here's hoping for a season of great sailing with lots of other like-minded folk.
