Frontier Science Scotland (Ltd) (FSS) is a not-for-profit company recognised as a Scottish Charity (SC033112) and was established in 2001 as the first European subsidiary office of Frontier Science and Technology Research Foundation, Inc (FSTRF).

We have a strong ethos and charitable objective which allow FSS to maintain active involvement in the management of clinical trials, and contributes to the field both with extensive participation in the preparation of peer reviewed articles in prestigious medical or statistical journals, and with the advancement of education both of its own staff and others in the field of clinical trials and statistical methodology.

Our directors are selected because of an interest in the area of clinical trials, and they are appointed with the approval of the board of the sole member organisation, Frontier Science and Technology Research Foundation Inc. (“FSTRF USA”). In April 2013, the FSTRF Board approved the appointment of Dr Karen Bailie as an additional Director.

FSS is recognised by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator as a charity. FSS has been entered into the Scottish Charity Register and is entitled, in accordance with section 13(1) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 to refer to itself as a charity registered in Scotland.
