Today we remember Private James Walmsley (1703) who served with the East Lancashire Regiment. James died on 28th June 1915 aged 17 and is buried in the Lancashire Landing Cemetery (Turkey).
He was the son of James Turner Walmsley and Elizabeth Walmsley, of 11, Grove Terrace, Padiham, Lancs. He is being commemorated by Margaret Pratt who has stitched his square which can be seen in the Gallery.
