On this day 8th June 2014 - Private William Chisman

Today 8th June we remember Private William Chisman (2569) who served with the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment. William was the son of Thomas and the late Clara Chisman, and the Stepson of Sarah Chisman, of 17, Grantham Place, Bradford, Yorks.
He died on 8th June 1915 and was buried on 9th June in the Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery.
He was survived by his father Thomas who received the plaque and scroll in his commemoration and an elder brother Arthur aged 33.
He is being commemorated by Dallas Carter who has stitched his square which can be seen in the Gallery.
