Today, 27th May we remember Private Ernest Chell (75862) who served with the Northumberland Fusiliers. My thanks to Helen Marsden Ernest's great niece with whose kind permission I share with you a photograph of Ernest which you can view in the Gallery.
He was born in Matlock, Derbyshire and enlisted at Bakewell he died on 27th May 1918 and is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial.
