Rider & Bell

With war clouds looming in the 1930's and the decline in popularity in the United Kingdom, Merryweather sent the moulds and patterns for brass helmet manufacturing to their Australian counterparts for safe keeping.

During the 1940s Rider & Bell, began production of Brass fire helmets, with the full backing of Merryweather, using the original patterns, and made to the exacting standard that Merryweather put into thier originals, hand soldered and polished.

These helmets are still produced in very limited numbers today, and although are not "Victorian" helmets, they are no imposter and are, contrary to popular belief, not a reproduction, which by definiition is a fraudulent copy.
