The Emirates Cup.

I have to admit that I have been an interested follower of Arsenal F.C. as well as Reading F.C. throughout my lfe. For an early 65th birthday treat, I was taken to the Emirates Stadium last Saturday, August 3rd. I never got to Highbury so this was the first time that I have seen Arsenal live. Always following local league and cup football at roots level, the experience was inexplicable, beyond description. For a start, it was a double-header. Porto v Galatasaray before Arsenal v Napoli. 0 - 1 and 2 - 2.

Many thanks to club-mate Pascin Philo whose brilliant idea came to fruition and arranged everything. It was a truly wonderful experience and the spectators were all excellent. We just happened to be at the far end - when all the goals of both games were scored at the far end of the pitch!!!
