The 1st team played a Hellenic League Division 1 east game against top of the table Rayners Lane on 09/02/13. To return home with a point was an achievement in itself. Josh Sapsed scored all three, a great hat-trick.

Finches were 2-1 up at half time and owe it to Neil Griffith who made 2 superb saves, one in each half. The conditions were not ideal, Lane have had pitch surface trouble for a while now. It is not too bad a place to visit and they always welcome us as we reciprocate when they visit Finchampstead.
