A warm welcome to our group 

newly formed in February 2013 by lung disease sufferers for fellow sufferers and their carers/partners/family/friends

Our aim is to assist people in Ferndown, Dorset and surrounding districts who suffer from any lung related disease (i.e. Asthma, Bronchiestasis, COPD, IPF, lung cancer to name but a very few), offering support by way of monthly meetings where talks will be given by various guest NHS Health Professionals with time to socialise and catch up and just bend an ear if needed!

Meetings take place on the FIRST THURSDAY of every month at The Village Hall, Church Road, Ferndown. Advance meeting dates for 2015 are 5th February, 5th March and 2nd April

IT IS WITH GREAT REGRET THAT WE MUST ADVISE THAT THE MEETING ON 2ND APRIL WILL BE THE FINAL MEETING DUE TO DWINDLING SUPPORT OF THE GROUP. MAY WE TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK ALL THOSE INVOLVED AND ATTENDED THE VERY BEST FOR THE FUTURE.

An important  purpose of the Support Group  is to continue friendships made on the Ferndown Leisure Pulmonary Rehab Course (and create new ones) so they are not lost - as they could be when the course ends.  Through ever increasing social awareness and friendship, the group will grow and develop, with the group assisting other members at home if and when the need arises for any reason.

We have added a page to the site which briefly explains some of the many lung conditions suffered which may be of help to those newly diagnosed and to provide insight on other lung problems.  The information has been collated from the NHS UK website (see 'Links' page). If your condition has been missed out just send us a message via 'feedback' and we will update with the relevant information.
