New series of Creative Taster Workshops!

Starting on Monday 24 March.

At Leaf Hall Community Arts Center,51 Seaside,Eastbourne,East Sussex.

13 Workshops every Monday evening from Mon 24 March to June 30th.From 7pm to 9pm; full details and dates below.

Have fun discovering your own creativity!

Art and creativity is not just for “Artists”.

Being creative is for Everyone!

If you have not been near paints, pencils or crayons ETC since school, or perhaps someone told you you were 'no good at it', or you have always fancied having a go but felt too intimidated by 'art classes'

then these workshops are especially for YOU! Finding your own creativity is a wonderful journey of discovery, an exploration of the colours and inner song of your life. I hope you will join me on this amazing,fun journey in discovering the

ALL MATERIALS & TOOLS SUPPLIED

Cost: £12 per workshop per person. Includes all materials, tea & biscuits. All workshops are 2 hours long.

BOOKING Each workshop can be booked individually.

Please book in advance, at least10 days before a workshop is due to run. DISCOUNTS: Book a block of 3 workshops in advance and get £2 off each one (£30 for 3)

(PLEASE NOTE: A minimum of 6 students must book for a workshop to run. Maximum of 10 places per workshop. If you have booked a workshop and it is cancelled, you may either choose a different workshop or I will refund your booking fee)

WORKSHOP DATES AND DETAILS;

24 March Workshop One; Drawing

Pencils, charcoal, felt tips, pastels, and wax crayons, on various grounds.

 

31 March Workshop Two; Drawing

*Pencils, charcoal, felt tips, pastels, and crayons, on various grounds. *Coloured pencils, water soluble pencils, frottage (rubbings)

 

7 April Workshop Three; Drawing & painting; Ink & textures.

Drawing with black ink and a brush,'Quink', dip pens, toothbrush, twigs, and feathers, ink & white gouache ‘etching + coloured pencils, water soluble pencils, crayons.

 

14 April Workshop Four;

Painting,drawing,lettering,mixed media

*Coloured inks,acrylic inks, Ink & wax crayons,’ ‘Air brush’ using felt tips. Lettering/Calligraphy. Stamps & felt tips.

Make a poem poster. Make a special note book/journal or card

Do feel free to bring a favorite poem or quotations to work with.

§ No workshop on April 21st as its Easter Monday Bank Holiday.

28 April Workshop Five; Watercolour Painting + pencils

*Water colour and gouache. *Laying washes, wet on wet, dry brush, washing out, salt textures, wax resist, watercolour with ink & wash, with coloured pencils.Make a special note book/journal or card

May 5 Workshop Six; Acrylic Painting + mixed media

*Acrylics. On paper, canvas, wood, other grounds.

*Using with coloured pencils and other media

Paint a small box, plack,canvas or stone.

May 12 Workshop Seven ; Printing

*Finger paint, poster paint, tempera on paper & card

*Mono prints, string prints, card block prints, potato prints, objects & leaf prints,hand and foot prints.

Make wrapping paper/book or folder cover/cards.

Rubber gloves and wipes supplied Please bring an old towel to dry your hands & feet.

May 19 Workshop Eight; Fabric Painting, printing, stencilling.

Fabric paint & acrylic. Stencils, large stamps, making your own foam stamps.Please bring something that you’d like to decorate, i.e. t-shirt, jeans,pillow case,table cloth,bag,shirt etc.

§ No workshop on May 26 as its Spring Bank Holiday

2nd June Taster 9 Playing with paper.

Paper Sculpture, Mobiles & Mixed Media. Newspaper modelling, tissue modelling, and origami. Mask making. Paper beads; make a necklace. Bird or fish mobile. Paper Flowers. A small cube table or waste basket made from newspaper (yes really!) Please bring spare old newspapers for this.Also junk mail is good for bead making

9 June Taster Ten; Collage + Mixed Media

Collage, montage (photo collage), photo transfers, flat decoupage. Photos, tissue papers, newspapers, magazines, all kinds of coloured and wrapping papers, sticky papers, felt, fabric, glitter, sequins, beads, feathers, shells. Paints and varnish. For decoupage, please bring something to decorate: a tray, bottle, picture frame, folder, small table, box, book, folder etc. Book with payment by 5th June

 

16 June Taster Eleven: Modelling/Sewing craft.

Make a peg doll from wood peg,fabric,wool and beads

Book with payment by Thursday 12th June

 

23 June Taster Twelve Clay & Plaster

Clay, plasticine, carving & casting plaster, impasto painting with filler, embedding objects, glitter, feathers, beads & glue.

Coil pots/models/pendants from air drying clay.

A mosaic or plaster plack

*PLEASE NOTE This taster is £15 due to extra material costs

30 June Taster Thirteen; Mixed Media 3D

Paper Mache, recycled art, Metal foil embossing.altered art, found objects. Make some simple maracas, a Light bulb bird, an Altered book, a Steam Punk broach,or a Dream Jar /Problem Jar (something to put your fears, hopes or dreams into.) Please bring something to alter! Ideas on What to bring; Old defunct light bulb (the old round kind)/jar/old tin or box/old books. Any found objects you think could be recycled/ altered/made into art. Lateral thinking on this one helps!
