Earlier this month I spent some time at the fabulous Moniack Mhor writing retreat. What a wonderful place!
If you seek tranquillity amidst stunning scenery, companionship of fellow writers and delicious food, I can thoroughly recommend Moniack Mhor.
Situated high above Kiltarlity, near Inverness, Moniack Mhor offers panoramic views from its three buildings – the main living area, the cottage and the quirky, round Hobbit House.
I joined a group of fourteen other writers of all ages and from various locations, including the fabulous authors Janice Galloway, Kerry Hudson and freelance editor/agent Judy Moir.
Between us, we shared the evening cooking preparation, under the expert guidance of the ever-helpful Moniack Mhor staff. What a fun way to bond, before sitting down to eat at one fabulous, long, wooden table. As the log fire crackled, we dined on our culinary creations, drank wine and shared tales till late.
And not a television in sight, anywhere!
