Family Clothes Brush Hand-over

David Smith, Evanton hands over a clothes brush with initials M.D.Craik (Margaret, Dixon) to Carol and Steve Back who were up from S.England. Carol's great grandfather, Andrew Craik, an Edinburgh-based tobacconist, built Teesdale, Camden St (architect John Whitelaw). He had married Kate Fraser whose father William was a carter in Evanton, and whose mother was Helen (nee Munro). David's grandmother Katy Ann Mackenzie who lived in 'Bulawayo' was a friend of Jane Hudson (nee Craik), daughter of Andrew and Kate who was living at Teesdale until it was sold in 1961.

NB A.Craik (jnr)  won the 'Driving' competition in the Kiltearn Crofter's Club of Sept 1901
