The Council announced their intention to form a Community Engagement Steering Group, comprising one member from each of the following groups -

• Elgin Community Council
• Elgin North Area Forum
• Elgin South Area Forum
• Elgin Designing Streets Action Group
• Fairfield Community Group
• Moray Council

The group's main aim is to arrange workshops and liaise with a wide range of 'stakeholders',  they have also discussed many issues including the 'value' or 'benefit' of the road to the people of Elgin, looking at all aspects of the road. However, the group have not been permitted to discuss the route of the proposed road or the roundabout junction with the A96. They have met in April and again on 15 May and have arranged a 'route walk' to be undertaken by the group, the council and 'stakeholders' on the 31 May 2012 between 6.30pm - 8.30pm, this will be followed by a full day workshop on 1 June 2012.

It may be worthwhile to stand in or around the route during the 'route walk' to hear what is being discussed and to put across your concerns.
