Our committee was invited to a meeting with the councils' new Project Design team, lead by Senior Engineer Dave Gowans. The meeting was chaired by Richard Hartland, Director of Environmental Services.

Summary of main points which came out of this meeting -

• We challenged the councils junction treatment options in that they may have misled the Economic Development & Infrastructure Services Committee members into voting for the Sherriffmil roundabout junction - Mr Hartland was to come back with a more detailed response on the queries raised
• The council admitted that the Wittet Drive section of this Western Distributor Road was only stage 1 of a larger route.
• The height of the bridge over the railway would be determined by Network Rail
• The council advised they were looking to issue a first draft in the next month or two and may wish to have a further meeting to discuss some of the design features
