SUMMER MUSIC IN DORNOCH CATHERDRAL 2013

The EHCB finished their 'domestic' season this year once again with a musical spectacular in Dornoch Cathedral.

A large crowd enhansed by tourists from the newly berthed Queen Mary were treated to a wide variety of music genres. The afternoon started with the EHCB playing a set including Rodeo, Palladio and Mission Impossible. This was followed by the Chamber Choir from Aberlour House, the Junior School at Gordonstoun who were appearing in Dornoch for the first time. They sung Rutter Gaelic Blessing, The Lord is my Shepherd and an arrangement of Sky Fall by their conductor, Geraint Watkins. The afternoon concluded with  a Brass ensemble and concert band form the Junior school playing a varity of pieces from Jazz to Prokoviev and a grand finale of all the combined groups in Mussorgsky's Night on a Bare Moutain. Many Congratulations to Keri Barker for winning the Jim Arthur Sheild  for the most outstanding contribution to the EHCB in2012/2013 and many thanks for Jim being there is person to present the sheild.

And finally, many thanks to the audience in the Cathedral for their generous donations which totalled £209 and to Mrs MIlne and Mrs Butchard for delivering such a great tea.
