Our grand finale of the 2011/12 season was our triple header with our friends in the Caithness Schools Wind Band and a brass ensemble formed by pupils and and staff from Gordonstoun and Highland Schools. For many of the 16 strong ensemble, it was there first visit to the Highlands. There group was led by Conductor, Susan Dingle who was familiar to many already in the Highlands as conductor of both the Highland regional Youth Orchestra and Highland Chamber Orchestras.

The brass ensemble kicked off the concert with Copland's Fanfare for the common man and finished a 20 minute set with 3 movements form an arrangement for brass of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.
The Caithness and East Highland Bands then played Highlights from Shrek and Chicago and caprice by William Himes.
The Grand finale was provided by the entire ensemble, led by Susan Dingle in the Chaconne and March from the Suite in Eb by Holst.
It was a fitting end to another busy and successful season by the EHCB.

Very many thanks to all the players, parents and helpers who make it all possible and hear's to next season ...our 10 aniversary year....
