James O’Hare followed up his success at the Ulster Schools with an emphatic win in the All Ireland Senior boy’s cross-country. James ran away from the classy field on the penultimate lap to win untroubled by 19 seconds.
Earlier on the day Joanne Mills claimed a silver medal in the Intermediate Girls.
The team of Assumption Grammar School finished 3rd team in the All Ireland Senior Girls. Ciara Mageean finishing in 1st place and supported by Sinead Redmond in 26th place, Cara Cuningham 49th and Caroline O’Hare 50th.
Elaine Burch from Down High finished 22nd in the Junior Girls.
A great result for the locality with winning the two Senior Titles, 2nd in the Intermediate Girls and 3rd team in the Senior Girls.
