East Creek Union was formed in February 2012 when newly formed Old Time American music duo Scott Simmons and Bob Tracey appeared at the Maverick Festival concert at the Pump House in Aldeburgh as support band to Police Dog Hogan.  The promoters suggested that a band name should be considered and the audience that night voted that East Creek Union should be the band name from that point on – as simple as that.

The ‘Union’ theme is very appropriate as Scott and Bob are joined where appropriate to the occasion by other fine musicians, including bassist and multi-instrumentalist Pete Young and percussive Appalachian Clog dancer Heather Tracey.

East Creek Union has gained a solid following of Union members through its performances at acoustic clubs, folk clubs, Art Centres and Folk, Bluegrass and Old Time American Music Festivals over the past 18 months. To date, in 2014 East Creek Union has been booked for support appearances in over 20 venues, including seven Festivals as far apart as Purbeck and Tolpuddle in the south-west and Maui-Waui Festival in the east of England.
