Four Pollox and a Fish
Four Pollox and a Fish rocked!
They formed in 2010 to play in and around Syke, and quickly aquired an avid following. Although dormant from 2017, the members still regularly play together in one form or another.
The Pollox have two cds on East Cleft Street:
Boston Blues (2012)
Four Pollox and a Fish were:
Geoff Pritchard - vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards
Mick Hope - vocals, lead guitar
Kevyn Smith - vocals, bass, slide guitar, programming
Stewart Duff - percussion, backing vocals
Here's a sample of the Pollox work:
Johnny's Boys was the title track of the most recent Pollox album. It's a tribute to Johnny the Baker and his cousins Roddy and Elma who grew up in Glasgow in the 1950s. Kevyn sings lead and plays the twangy guitar, MIck plays the jazzy lead.
The title track of our first album with Geoff singing lead and playing the hammond.
Geoff found this rare Tom Petty song and we 'Polloxed' it. It has a great rocking sound and always went down well live.
Mick sings lead on this reworking of a great Crowded House song.
A lovely slinky blues sung and written by Kevyn
A constant crowd pleaser from our live set and the first Pollox album - Boston Blues
