Dedridge Environment Ecology Project

DEEP is an award-winning, community-led initiative aiming to regenerate the Dedridge Burn corridor between Bankton Mains Park and the confluence with the River Almond.

The aim of DEEP is to regenerate the Dedridge Burn corridor, improving access and quality of public open space, for the primary benefit of local people whilst enhancing biodiversity.

The objectives of DEEP are: (a) To advance education and to provide, or assist in the provision of, facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation, where such provision or assistance (i) is in the interests of Social Welfare of the community; and (ii) is made with the object of improving the conditions of life of the members of the community in the area of benefit; (b) Act as promoter of environmental improvements to the Dedridge burn, ponds and surrounding woodland areas for the general benefit of the residents of the area of benefit; (c) Maximise community participation in both the management of the project and in the upkeep of the woodland areas after works have been carried out.

We are a Registered Scottish Charity: SC042822.
