Welcome to the Douglas Action for Training website.

The aims of  the project are to create a safe working environment tor teach young unemployed people in our area the basic skill levels to hopefully find employment or even start up their owm business.

The local Douglas and Angus estate have generously given our group approx half an acre of ground on which we aim to create a garden from which we hope to sell the produce locally, the estate have also given us the use of an office and a large area for storage.

We plan to teach drystane dykeing, monoblocking, gardening and horticulture skills along with garden furniture making and basic outdoor skills.

We also aim to take on 5 young people from the local High School one day per week to train them in a suitable working environment with the aim of seeking local career placements.
