Cromarty Firth: Local experts say oil transfer plan threatens marine life

"CAMPAIGNERS opposing the transfer of crude oil between ships in the Cromarty Firth have claimed the proposals do not contain measures to protect “one of the most environmentally sensitive sites in the UK”.

In a detailed report compiled by two local residents with more than 55 years’ experience in marine biology and oil and gas Cromarty and District Community Council (CDCC) said the application had shown no compliance with oil pollution regulations, pollution plans were incomplete, and measures to limit pollution were “tenuous”."
