More ARCH Events

As you'll see below,  this glorious weather seems to have given ARCH a spring in its step, with an amazing variety of activities happening in the next week or two. All the details are below and - as with all ARCH events - everyone is welcomed, no previous experience required:

Saturday 23 February: Lynne will be leading her free heritage textiles workshop in Dingwall Community Centre from 10.30 - 3.30. This week you can learn tablet weaving techniques, ideal for belts, bracelets and trims. On the 2 March Lynne will be teaching Naal Binding. It's Viking stretchy knitting, done with a needle - and looks just the technique you need for a cozy pair of woolly socks!

Sunday 24 February: Lachlan will be leading his free photographing heritage sites walk and workshop in Invergordon. The day will include a site visit, where Lachlan will teach scale drawing techniques and the use of photography to record information - including the wonderful world of photosynth and 3-D images. Contact Lachlan on lmckeggie@archhighland.org.uk for all the details.

Monday 25 February: Mapping memorials to Women in Scotland. Morag Smith from the Glasgow Women’s Library will be coming up to give an ARCH workshop in Alness Heritage Centre at 7.30pm.

Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 February: Ardersier Heritage classes, 7.00- 9:30pm at The Old School Hall in Ardersier

Wednesday 27 February: Evanton Wartime Remains classes begin with a chance to share memories. There will be events on every Wednesday evening at Cornerstone Cafe, from 7-9:30pm.

Sunday 2 March: A guided walk from 10 am - 1.00 (weather permitting!), looking at some of the surviving remains. Meet at Skiach Services in Evanton.
