Croft 3 is situated in Kinloch Glen, a short walk from Kinloch village on the Isle of Rum. The North side Nature Trail walk takes you around three sides of Croft 3 where you can spot our livestock, make a purchase of seasonal produce from our honesty tables and maybe catch a glimpse of us tending the animals, planting or harvesting crops or simply enjoying our idyllic life here on Rum.
We are Ady, Nic, Davies and Scarlett and have been resident on Rum since April 2012 when we were successful in our application to let one of the newly created crofts on Rum.
Since our arrival we have faced various challenges - not least getting our static caravan home onto our croft land which took nearly 3 months to achieve! We hope to build a more permanent home for ourselves over the coming years along with turning what was just a bare field when we arrived into our dream of low impact self sufficiency in the years to come.
In the meantime we sell our croft produce - currently free range eggs from our flock of chickens, ducks and geese, home baking, jams and preserves, knitted, crocheted and crafted items, sea glass treasures, artwork and more.
