Corrie Cottages have been offering self-catering accommodation on the Isle-of-Skye since 1990.  These semi-detached cottages are on a croft in the crofting township of Satran in the Miniginish area and are ideal as a base for climbing the Cuillin.

Our cottages have been extended over the years and can accommodate four in comfort.  In each cottage we have two bedrooms, a kitchen that leads into the sitting area each with large windows with views to the countryside.    MacKenzie Cottage has a great view of the sea-loch, Loch Harport and Talisker Distillery in the distance.

One of the many comments from visitors over the years is that Skye is much bigger than they thought and that they wished they had more time to explore, every corner will give another memory to take back home.

Our cottages are fairly central, most places on Skye can be reached in under an hour.

On your first day take a trip to Dunvegan to visit the castle the home of Hugh, MacLeod of Macleod, it is said to be the oldest continuously occupied castle in Scotland with records stretching back nearly 800 years, once you have finished your visit carry on past the castle to Claigan and visit the "coral" beach there where you may also see seals playing in the sea.  In Dunvegan village you can eat at the Old School House restaurant or pop to the bakery for freshly baked bread.

On your second day take a trip to Armadale and go to the Clan Donald centre for some more history this time on the MacDonalds, pop along to the pier for a coffee and then browse through the wonderful clothes for sale in Ragamuffin or go and see Grumpy George for some photographic souvenirs.

These are only suggestions and you can find in the cottages books and maps of the area to plan your own trips.

One trip close at hand is a tour of our local distillery, Talisker, here you can while away a couple of hours browsing the distillery history in the reception while having a dram of their 10 year old Single Malt Whisky, then join a tour around the distillery to find out how the single malt spirit is produced.
