Welcome to Coeden Ponies

.

Our late Mum always blamed our Grandfather for the passionate desire to own a pony of our own, but it was the sight of 'Llanarth Flying Comet ' handled by Len Bigley at the 1978 HOYS Lloyds Bank In-Hand Championship that lit the fire within us to own a Welsh.

Grandad's heroic tales of the team of horses he drove on the battlefields in Europe during the First World War ignited the imagination of Helen, who would spend hours at his knee enraptured.
The constant wishing and hoping and nagging for a Pony of her own eventually worked and 'Copper Mine' (a lovely old fashioned coloured cob) was bought and came to live with us!  He remained for the rest of his natural life.  From the age of three until his demise from 'cushings' at twenty four years old he was the absolute love of Helen's life!
Other Ponies came and went as the years went by but the sight of 'Flying Comet' as he made his Majestic  and Spectacular Lap of Honour in the Wembley Arena induced a quote from Helen that has brought us to this day!

"I want one of those"
