"Five frogs are sitting on a log.  Four decide to jump off. How many are left?
Five. Why? Because there's a difference between deciding and doing”
Mark L. Feldman & Michael F. Spratt,  'Five Frogs on a Log'

Coaching is about moving on from deciding - and deciding - and deciding...
that you
want to make some changes in your life.
It's about taking action that will change your life.

Be the frog that jumps!

If you are thinking of working with a coach, it may well be because something is getting in the way of making that leap from the familiar log into a much more interesting pond.

This could be true for you if :

  • You know you've had enough of the log - but you don't know which pond you want to jump into.
  • You have a dream pond that beckons, but the route from the log to the pond doesn't seem obvious. It may not be just a simple and obvious jump away.

But now you are ready, in principal, to jump - to explore by doing rather than just 'thinking about doing' and, if necessary, to push the boundaries of your Comfort Zone and to (what may feel like) take some risks in the service of identifying and creating a more fulfilling and exciting life.

How do I support you in this process?
One of the things clients sometimes do during their coaching sessions is to create a particular form of a Life Purpose statement. During my training this is what evolved as mine :
"I am the wild gypsy dancer that gets people off their a*s".

In other words, I get you into action. But in a kind way!

"Lynda combines warmth and humour with a tough, challenging focus on priorities and has moved me forward dramatically in finding and achieving goals. Her clarity and empathy – and sense of fun and possibility - make her a transformational coach." Christian MacLean, Chief Executive Officer, CHIP+

“Thank you for all the help you have given me. I really feel that you have stuck by me through these  quite difficult times. You really do coach with love, and great skill”. John

"The tools and approaches Lynda used were ones I could take away from the sessions and adapt in a range of ways. Lynda really worked for me as my coach because I felt able to trust her with my innermost emotions which was a huge achievement for me. I always felt listened to and never felt judged". Juliet

"I have found Lynda's coaching skills most helpful and effective because:  she listens carefully to what you say, and asks analytical, perceptive questions; she has a mischevious sense of fun and enthusiasm that promotes action, optimism and constructive thinking; she focuses on the present and the future rather than the past; she thinks 'big' and courageous rather than 'small' and timid; and she cuts to the chase, being prepared to challenge you when necessary.  Last but not least, she is clearly interested in you as a person". Anna Plodowski

And very occasionally, if you seem to be stuck in any old 'stories' of why you "can't" rather than being committed and determined to figure out how you "can", the 'wild gypsy' leaps into action and says :

"You know what you want to do. Will you
Just F*****g Do It?"!

You take action. You learn. You grow. You change. Your life changes.
Isn't that what you want from coaching?
