CICA refused your compensation claim?

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority only apply the rules found in the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme 2012. They cannot make the cicumstances of your assault fit the rules. This Scheme was laid before Parliament under the S11(1) of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 1995.
Cross and annoyed?
I am sure you are! There are so many reasons why the CICA has rejected your application for compensation. Many applicants have not presented their application in the best light, sometimes the outside agencies that provide information to the CICA have got it wrong and other times there are legal reasons why the decsion has been taken not to award you compensation. On a personal note, I have always found the CICA staff to be helpful and very professional in all their dealing. Remember, they can only apply the rules.
