Lanzhou women and children education centre serves the families of migrant workers from the Tong Se tribe. The women including many elderly women are taught how to read the Quran and basic islamic education.  The children are in the preschool and girls school.  The girls are taught how to read the Quran in Chinese and Arabic.  They are taught to write verses of the Quran and hadeeth. 

Unfortunately, because the community are from poverty stricken households and are already struggling in meeting basic survival needs.  They cannot pay tution fees. So the school runs on donations from the wider society.

The principal in her desperation conducted door to door fundraising in person.  Unfortunately, she was met with a harsh response.  She is severely distressed in her plight to keep the centre open.  Teachers recieve only 30 pounds a month for their dedication to this noble cause.

We must raise funds for these needy muslims whose only means of understanding and practiscing Islam correctly is dependant upon establishments such as this.
