Catriona Burness is an experienced researcher and writer on politics and social affairs. A historian by training she has worked in universities and adult education as well as in the European Parliament, the House of Commons and Holyrood.

The research services she can offer include:

• Background research on topical issues and forthcoming legislation
• Parliamentary monitoring
• Project design and evaluation

Recent work includes an electronic handbook, Women and Parliaments in the UK, and an evaluation of Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) trade union learning in the Highlands.
