Two Society Members in Irish International Sheep Dog Teams

Two local sheep dog handlers, both members of Castlewellan Blackface Sheep Breeders, have qualified to represent Ireland in the upcoming International trial being held on the 6th ,7th and 8th September at Gill Hall estate on the Lurgan Road in Dromore Co Down.

Frankie McCullough with his dog Spot qualified in 5th place in this years Irish national Trial held on Achill Island. This is Frankie’s fourth consecutive year in the Irish team having been Irish National singles champion in 2010. Indeed Frankie is the only member from the 2017 Irish team to win a place again in 2018.

John Maginn runs his two dogs Lad and Kate in the Brace competition having won the Irish National Brace title for 2018 in Achill Island. John is no stranger to the international trial having represented Ireland on many occasions and having been Irish National singles champion on several occasions in the past.

We wish both of them good luck  for next week's International Trial at Gill Hall Estate in Dromore
