Rare photo of Canna Pier works 1970's
A rare photograph of the 1970's Canna Pier extension works was recently presented to local resident and historical group member Winnie MacKinnon. It shows Dr. John Lorne Campbell inspecting works at Canna Pier which was undergoing an extension in the early 1970's. Other locals are seen with representatives of the contractors Lilley Construction including Winnie's father, Ian MacKinnon.
The Canna Local History Group would like to thank William MacLachlan of Helensburgh for presenting this photo to us during an enjoyable weeks holiday on Canna recently. William's father worked for Lilley and he recalls visiting Canna and meeting everyone at that time.
