An amazing last 3 months

Its been an amazing last 3 months here on Canna. (watch this space for more news on an amazing discovery from the past!!)

There is a genuine feeling of vibrancy from this thriving Hebridean Community which is there for all to see who take the time to visit this amazing island and sample its many cultural and natural assets.

This weekend we welcomed a contingent of artists and scientists from the Cape Farewell group.http://www.capefarewell.com/ Marking its 10th anniversary with a Scottish Islands Expedition. They were treated to the traditional warm Hebridean hospitality of Canna and were very reluctant to leave.

In late May we welcomed the Bard and the Birlinn conference to the island. A fantastic day was had with the Gàidhlig very much to the fore for most of the day as Canna celebrated the life of Alasdair MacMhaighstir Alasdair. The event was a huge success with the Local History Group assisting both the organisers Eilean nan Ealan and the National Trust for Scotland. See pictures below.
