Caledonian Organics procurers Farm Stock Scotland report strong demand for organic beef and lamb this week. 

On-spec R4L prime beef are attaining 370ppkg with processors paying a strong premium of 60ppkg. Competition is strong between the processors as they try and maintain their market share. On-farm numbers are tight at the moment - a seasonal shortage as store cattle are put to grass.

Good organic hoggets are virtually non existent as we face the gap between hogget lamb and new season lamb. Demand is strong from both processors and butchers and Farm Stock Scotland can place any remaining lamb on farm.
